Practice started Monday with 4 and a
bit rounds until the rain came. The track was damp to
wet after a number of days of rain last week. Tuesday
dawned dry and during the morning there were two rounds
of timed and controlled practice, the second round being
used to sort the grid for the first round of Heats (Best
two consecutive laps). From
the start of the meeting it was eveident that the battle
between Peter and Hubert (Hupo) at the warmup meeting in
May was just part of a wider campaign. The only
difference was that there were a few other parties to
add some spice. Current World Champion Neil Cragg was
more than happy to get a piece of the action, sharing
heat 13 with Hupo. Also in 13 is young Jörn Neumann. I
saw him race electric Off Road at the Petit RC Race in
February and also Rallycross at the DXR at Easter.
